FreeWheel - the neatest gadget for manual rigid-frame chairs

Arwen's notes:

This gadget was invented by a paraplegic. I use the one I have about every day and has really broadened my ability to travel on paved paths, gravel, dirt, grass and just yesterday, a meadow! It clamps to the foot plate of your chair and when it rolls back into place, lifts the two front casters off the ground--giving the wheelchair three larger wheels.

My partner and I are able to just stop at any old logging road and travel along using my free wheel. Like I said, it's really improved my ability to access 'even a snippet' of nature.

Freewheel's web site says it all.

They are expensive (around $500), but it has been worth the investment for me!
