"The Silver Lake Barrier-Free Trail starts behind the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center on the shores of Silver Lake. The mile-long fully accessible trail includes boardwalks over wetlands where a variety of birds, include an array of migratory waterfowl, may be viewed at different times of the year. Mount St. Helens dominates the eastern view from nearly everywhere on the lake, and the trail managers have positioned an accessible telescope along the route for the public to use to view the big volcano."
